If you wish to move your participants from one competition to another, you can do so with our change competition module. You can decide to keep control of the changes by doing them yourself from the back office, or you could reduce your workload and let your participants do it all themselves directly from their dashboard.
Here's how to set it all up:
- Install the change competition module from the store:
If you wish to do the competition changes manually from the back office:
- Go the participant's registration page and click on the 'Actions' button. Click on 'Change competition', select the new competition and its price.
- If the new competition is more expensive than the one they are currently in, a new cart will be generated with the status 'waiting for payment'. You can invite them to pay for this cart by clicking on the three dots:
- You'll need to have created an email for the payment of the balance. Create this new email with no type, and with the destination = 'registered'. In the email content, you can add a button with a 'cart to be paid' link:
In this email, you can also add two variables:
'Competition change - old competition'
'Competition change - new competition'
- Create the competition change confirmation email. Use the email type 'Confirmation email for competition change' and the destination = 'registered'. This email will be automatically sent once the competition change is validated.
If you wish to allow the participants to change competitions themselves via their dashboard:
- In your edition, go to the competitions section where you'll see a new tab called 'Competition change rules':
- Here, you can configure as many rules as you need. You simply tell the system from which competition your participant can change from and to, and for what price.
Important note: if the competition they change to is cheaper, they will not be automatically refunded. You can refund them manually if needed.
- Create the competition change confirmation email. Use the email type 'Confirmation email for competition change' and the destination = 'registered'. This email will be automatically sent once the competition change is validated.
- In the participant dashboard, add and configure the 'change competition widget'.
When your participants connect to their dashboard, they will be able to choose to change to a different competition using this widget:
When they click to change competition, they will be automatically redirected to the registration form on the new competition (the form is pre-filled with their data).
NB: Competition changes will be displayed in the 'Changes Made' tab of the participant's page.
